Trazonil

Trazonil (Trazodone) is used in the treatment of depressive illness. It is classified as a serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor (SARI) belonging to the tetracyclic antidepressant group of medicines. According to the opinion of many expert physicians, this medicine works by bringing about an increase in the levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain, thereby helping to stabilize the mood and relieve depression. These tablets should not be taken by anyone who has taken an MAOI within the past 2 weeks, and physicians will always require patients who have ceased administering trazodone to allow at least 14 days before an MAOI can be taken.
