Uses

AmBisome (Liposomal Amphotericin B) is used to treat fungal infections; systemic fungal infections of Aspergillus species, Candida species, and/or Cryptococcus species; Cryptococcal meningitis and Visceral Leishmaniasis. AmBisome is classified as an antifungal antibiotic. It kills the fungus responsible for infection and prevents its reproducing further.

Dosage and Administration

AmBisome needs to be reconstituted in a solution containing no sodium chloride or bacteriostatic agents. AmBisome is usually administered via an intravenous drip. The dosage will depend on the condition being treated.
