AmBisome

AmBisome (Liposomal Amphotericin B) is used to treat fungal infections; systemic fungal infections of Aspergillus species, Candida species, and/or Cryptococcus species; Cryptococcal meningitis and Visceral Leishmaniasis. AmBisome is classified as an antifungal antibiotic. It kills the fungus responsible for infection and prevents its reproducing further.

AmBisome needs to be reconstituted in a solution containing no sodium chloride or bacteriostatic agents. AmBisome is usually administered via an intravenous drip. The dosage will depend on the condition being treated.

Do not take AmBisome (Liposomal Amphotericin B) if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

Do not take AmBisome (Liposomal Amphotericin B) if you are taking any azole antifungals.

Tell your doctor if you a pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Tell your doctor of any medications you are currently taking.

Tell your doctor if you have had any kidney problems.
