Amace-BP

Amace-BP is a combination of Benazepril (an ACE inhibitor) and Amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker). It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It works by relaxing the blood vessels, which allows the blood to flow more freely.

Each tablet contains 10mg of Benazepril and 5mg of Amlodipine. Take the dosage that has been prescribed by your doctor, usualy one or more tablets taken daily. Tablets are to be taken orally and can be taken with or without food.

As your body adjusts to the reduction you may notice feelings of light-headedness or dizziness, especially when standing up from a sitting or lying position. Getting up slowly and carefull can minimze these effects.

Some people have reported experiencing a dry cough when using Amace-BP. You may also notice swelling to the extremities (hands, feet, ankles) as a result of the decreased blood pressure.

Notify your doctor immediately if you experience fainting, fast/irregular/pounding heartbeat, or symptoms of a high potassium blood level (such as muscle weakness or a slow/irregular heartbeat). These are more serious side effects and may require you to reduce your dosage or try an different treatment option.

Do not take Amace-BP if you are allergic to benzaepril or amlodipine.

Do not take Amace-BP if you are diabetic and taking Aliskiren.

Before taking Amace-BP, tell your doctor if you have any heart conditions, kidney problems, liver problems, diabetes, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), scleroderma, or a collagen vascular disease.
