Caverject

Caverject Impulse Injection (Alprostadil) is an injection used for treating erectile dysfunction. The active ingredient is alprostadil, which is also known as Prostaglandin E1. Injecting the medicine contained in this product relaxes penis muscles and increases blood flow to the penis. Erection generally occurs 5-10 minutes after injection.

It is recommended patients do not use Caverject Impulse Injection (Alprostadil) on a daily basis, or two days consecutively. Dosage should not be changed unless it has been advised by a doctor. The needle and the solution should not be used multiple times even if there is solution left.

Common side effects experienced by patients using Caverject Impulse Injection (Alprostadil) include:

• Arrhythmia
• Hypotension
• Persistent erectile pain
• Urgent urination
• Penis pain
• Testicles pain
• Developing fibrous tissue in the penis
• Premature or delayed ejaculation
• Inflammation of the glands
• Candidiasis
• Tight foreskin
• Blood clot formation where Caverject Impulse Injection (Alprostadil) has been injected
• Bleeding from the urethra
• Itchiness, redness, or swelling where Caverject Impulse Injection (Alprostadil) has been injected

Caverject Impulse Injection (Alprostadil) is suitable for use by male patients only.

Caverject Impulse Injection (Alprostadil) is not recommended for patients with any of the following.

• Any allergy to Alprostadil
• A condition which makes sexual activity dangerous
• Drepanocytosis, plasma cell myeloma, or leukaemia
• A deformed penis, penis implant, scar on the penis, or a small foreskin
