It is used to reduce the severity of ischemic strokes, increasing the blood flow to the brain. It is also utilised in the treatment of other cerebrovascular, mental, and neurological diseases and disorders, as well as to improve the patient`s memory and slowing Alzheimer`s disease.

Dosage and Administration

Always dose as directed by your doctor. Cogvin (Vinpocetine) is used to treat a variety of conditions, so the correct dosage can vary. For most first time users, 5mg of Cogvin (Vinpocetine) is the maximum recommended dosage for any 24 hour period. Higher doses should only be taken when specifically prescribed by your doctor. Dosing should be done after meals on a full stomach.

Side effects

Commonly reported side effects of Cogvin (Vinpocetine) include dizziness, headaches, insomnia, nausea, stomach pains, dry mouth, face flushing. Precautions

Cogvin (Vinpocetine) is not suitable for patients with a history of hypersensitivity to alkaloids such as vincristine or vinblastine.

Patients with any upcoming surgery will normally be required to stop taking this medication 1 to 2 weeks prior to the surgery. This is due to the drug`s blooding thinning properties. Consult your doctor or surgeon regarding this matter.
