Desowen

Desowen (Desonide) is corticosteroid used to help reduce the severity of symptoms such as irritation, inflammation, swelling, red skin, or itchiness, which are associated with certain skin conditions. As well as improving symptoms listed above, the cream also moisturizes the patient`s skin.

Strictly follow your prescription and all instructions received from your physician when using Desowen (Desonide). The following steps are provided only as a general guideline for application. Wash and dry your hands and the area of skin to be treated well before use. Gently shake the cream to mix the contents. Open the tube, and apply a small amount of cream to affected skin. Gently massage the cream into the skin to evenly distribute it, leaving a thin layer of cream. Wash your hands immediately, recap the tube, and put away in a safe and suitable place.

The first time a patient uses Desowen (Desonide) it is not uncommon to experience some minor burning sensation, irritation, redness, or stinging. Reaction of this kind should be only mild and temporary. Notify your physician as soon as possible if any side effects persist.

• Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any of the following:
• Inflammation of the mouth or hair follicles
• Severe or persistent burning, dryness, redness, skin thinning, skin softening, discoloration, peeling, or irritation
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as rashes, hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, or difficulty swallowing

Desowen (Desonide) is for external use only. Do not apply to any skin which is cut, burnt, or damaged in anyway. Avoid apply near your eyes, mouth, nose, or ear holes.
