Endace

Endace (Megestrol Acetate) is a synthetic medicine similar to effects to progesterone which is used to increase appetite and weight in patients with AIDs (Acquired immunodefiency syndrome) or advanced stages of breast cancer or endometrial cancer. There may be other additional uses for this medicine.

Correct dosage varies depending on the patient being treated and the severity of the condition being treated. Never self-medicate or adjust your dose yourself. Strictly follow all instructions provided by your physician. An example of the range of typical dosages prescribed is from 5mg to 100mg of Endace (Megestrol Acetate), taken over 2 to 8 doses per day, for a period of treatment lasting from 5 to 10 days in length.

Possible side effects of Endace (Megestrol Acetate) include those listed below. If any persist, worsen, or become worrying, inform your physician promptly.

• Upset stomach
• Weakness
• Insomnia
• Impotence
• Loss of sex drive
• Vaginal bleeding

More serious side effects requiring immediate medical attention are listed below.

• Dry mouth
• Dry skin
• Coughing or wheezing
• Severe drowsiness or weakness
• Numbness
• Fainting
• Vomiting
• Chest pains
• Changes in vision
• Changes in weight
• Changes in blood pressure
• Changes in heart rate
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction (may include skin rashes, hives, swelling, or trouble breathing)

This medicine can harm unborn babies or babies being breastfeed.

Do not use Endace (Megestrol Acetate) if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
