Kenadion

Kenadion (Phytomenadione) is a brand of Phytomenadione, a man-made form of Vitamin K. It is used to reduce bleeding caused by anticoagulant medicines, and can be given to people taking Warfarin before an operation.

Kenadion (Phytomenadione) must only be injected by a doctor or a nurse after blood tests have determined that treatment will be required.

Make sure to tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Also tell your doctor of any medicines youare taking especially any other coagulants or anticoagulants. Continual blood tests will be needed to make sure your blood is clotting at the correct rate.

Kenadion (Phytomenadione) is usually well tolerated. There have been occasional reports of irritation or allergic-type reactions, but otherwise Phytomenadione is unlikely to cause side-effects. If you think you are experiencing side effects as a result of Phytomenadione, contact your doctor.
