Uses

Ledifos contains a combination of two different drugs used to treat chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV). Each table contains 90mg of Ledipasvir and 400mg of Sofosbuvir. Together, these drugs act as a potent antiviral agent that treat HCV by interfering with the further replication of the hepatitis C virus (HCV). Ledifos is indicated in the treatment of patients with genotype 1 HCV (the most common HCV subtype in the US and the UK).

Dosage and Administration

Ledifos comes in a pack of 28 tablets. Each table will contain Ledipasvir 90mg/Sofosbuvir 400mg as active ingredients.

Swallowed each tablet whole with a glass of water.

Your doctor will have prescribed a particular dosage for you. Follow this dosage exactly. Continue taking Ledifos for as long as you are advised by your doctor.

Side effects

Ledifos has very few sid effects and the majority are mild and will pass with time.

Some people will experience headaches and/or tiredness when taking Ledifos.

If you develop any signes of an allergic reaction to Ledifos (rash, hives, excessive itching, unusual difficulty breathing, tightness in your chest, or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue), contact your doctor immediately. You may need to stop taking Ledifos.

Precautions

Do not take Ledifos if you are allergic to ledipasvir or sofosbuvir.

Do not take Ledifos if you are already taking another medicine which contains sofosbuvir.

Taking Ledifos in certain scenarios can involve some risk to you, or can prevent if from working as intended. Before beginning treatment, you should tell your doctor if:

  • you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
  • you are currently taking any prescription medicines, or non-prescription medicines (including herbal treatments and dietary supplements)
  • you have had allergic reactions to medicines, foods, or other substances in the past
  • you have kidney or liver problems

Some medicines can prevent Ledifos from working properly, or can have there own actions inhibited by Ledifos.

  • Simeprevir can increase the risk of ledipasvir and sofosbuvir`s side effects
  • Carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifabutin, rifampin, rifapentine, St. John`s wort, or tipranavir can decrease the effectiveness of ledipasvir and sofosbuvir
  • The risk side effects of Digoxin or Rosuvastatin may be increased by the use of ledipasvir and sofosbuvir
