Metamide

Metamide (Metoclopramide Hydrochloride) is used to treat heartburn, gastroparesis, and certain other conditions related to the stomach or intestines. It is typically used for only a short period of time, often 4-12 weeks. It works by blocking a natural substance your body produces called dopamine. Dopamine speeds up movement in your stomach and intestines therefore by inhibiting this production, your intestines and stomach are able to recover more effectively.

Your physician may instruct you to dose 2-4 times a day, usually 30 minutes before a snack or meal. Swallow the Metamide (Metoclopramide Hydrochloride) tablets whole unless otherwise requested and aim to dose at the same time per day.

Metamide (Metoclopramide Hydrochloride) may cause the following side effects:

• Tiredness
• Drowsiness or dizziness
• Sleeping difficulties
• Agitation
• Headaches
• Diarrhea
• Stomach upset

Immediately contact your physician if you experience:

• Suicidal thoughts, depression, confusion or anxiety
• Decreased libido or impotenceÂ
• Uncontrollable movements
• Muscle spasms
• Tenderness in the chest area or increased milk production in females
• Menstruation changes
• Swollen hands or feet
