Minipress XL (Prazosin) is an alpha-blocker prescribed to help patients suffering from high blood pressure (hypertention). The risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney conditions are vastly reduced by lower high blood pressure. Blood pressure is reduced by relaxing and widening blood vessels, which allows blood to flow with less resistance. This medication may be prescribed alongside other medication for best results.

Most patients who are prescribed Minipress XL (Prazosin) are instructed to dose either 2 or 3 times a day. Dosage usually starts low and is increased by your physician in accordance with your progress. It can be taken with food or on an empty stomach, though dosing with food will help to alleviate any stomach discomfort experienced after dosing.
