It does this by helping the muscles in the eye to relax, thereby helping the pupil to dilate. This medication is useful for eye examinations as well as other diagnostic procedures.

Dosage and Administration

Mydriacyl Eye Drops (Tropicamide) are most commonly used at a physician`s office or in the presence of a physician while the patient is undergoing a medical procedure. Should it be prescribed to you for home use, first tilt your head back and look up. Then, you may pull down the lower eyelid and make a pouch. The dropper may then be held directly over the eye, and one drop placed in the pouch. The patient should then look downward and close the eye for 1 minute.
