Niflan

Niflan (Pranoprofen) is an NSAID which can treat swelling in the eyes caused by conjunctivitis. Its mechanism of action is the inhibition of inflammatory prostaglandin synthesis. Prostaglandins are types of lipids which are produced at the site of injury or damaged tissue as part of the body`s response to the injury. They are responsible for inflammation. However, the main ingredient in this ophthalmic medicine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, and by blocking the formation of prostaglandins, it can alleviate eye inflammation caused by keratitis, blepharitis and other conditions. Patients who have undergone surgery on the eyes may also be given it to prevent the occurrence of eye inflammation.

Niflan (Pranoprofen) eye drops are applied directly to the affected eye or eyes exactly as directed by your physician. Generally, adults will be instructed by a physician to use 1 to 2 drops per dosage, and it will be administered 4 times daily. Adjustments to the dosing schedule may be ordered by the physician depending on the severity of symptoms. The length of time that treatment will be required can also differ based on individual circumstances and patients must strictly comply with the instructions of their physician.

If you experience any side effects after application of Niflan (Pranoprofen) eye drops, make sure that you notify your physician. Some possible side effects are listed here:

• Tearing
• Soreness in the eyes
• Itchy sensation in the eyes
• Irritation affecting the eyes
• Eyelid inflammation or redness

Patients should take note of the fact that other reactions can also occur. In case you suffer from any side effects which are severe in nature, ensure that you consult a physician immediately.

Niflan (Pranoprofen) must never be taken orally or administered to any parts of the body except the eyes. You must only administer it as directed by your physician.

These eye drops must be stored in a suitable spot at room temperature and out of direct sunlight.
