Description

Uses

Panlipase (Lipase/Protease/Amylase) is prescribed to patients with digestive problems caused by cystic fibrosis. It is a digestive enzyme combination that helps your body to digest what you eat.

Dosage and Administration

How much you take and how often will depend on the strength of the Panlipase (Lipase/Protease/Amylase) and your condition. Take strictly as directed by your physician, with a full glass of water. Do not alter your dose or suddenly stop taking it without consulting your physician, even if you are feeling better.

If you do, your symptoms may worsen and increase the onset of unwanted side effects. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.

Side effects

As with all medication, Panlipase (Lipase/Protease/Amylase) has the potential to cause side effects in some patients. Common side effects include gas, a sore throat or coughing, dizziness, unusual bowel movements, vomiting, and stomach pain. If these symptoms get worse or do not go away, contact your physician.

Less common side effects include symptoms of low or high blood sugar levels, an allergic reaction, swollen or painful joints, diarrhea, stomach pain, constipation, and mouth or tongue irritation. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your physician immediately or seek emergency medical treatment

Precautions

Tell your physician if you have allergies to any other medications, dyes, food, preservatives, or any other substances, if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding, and what other prescription, nonprescription, or herbal and dietary supplements you are taking.

Tobacco, certain foods, and alcohol may interact with Panlipase (Lipase/Protease/Amylase), so discuss with your physician your use of these substances while taking this medication.

Tell your physician if you have pancreatitis or a long-term problem with your pancreas, have a history of bowel or stomach problems, and kidney or liver problems.
