Pets weighing less than 12lbs are normally treated with one eighth of a teaspoon, whereas animals in the 13lbs to 35lbs weight range may need a quarter teaspoon. Heavier animals, such as those that weigh 36lbs to 60lbs are generally treated with one third of a teaspoon and dogs larger than this may need a half teaspoon. To remove a plaque and tartar buildup, vets generally recommend applying it twice per day. Keep using it until all tartar and plaque has been dissolved. Most owners notice results after 30 days. Pet owners using this gel to maintain oral hygiene or prevent dental health problems may be told to use it 2 to 3 times per week. It may also be administered on a daily basis.
