Pilocar

Pilocar Eye Drops (Pilocarpine Nitrate) are used to treat ocular hypertension or glaucoma. These eye drops work by decreasing the amount of fluid in the eye, which in turn helps to reduce pressure in the eye. Reducing pressure can help to prevent nerve damage or loss of vision.

Strictly follow all instructions provided to you by your physician or pharmacist while using Pilocar Eye Drops (Pilocarpine Nitrate). Optimum and safe dosage can differ based on the patient and the condition being treated. These eye drops should be applied to the eyes using the dropper provided.

The eye drops are normally applied 2 to 4 times per day, or as directed by your physician. You should hold your head backwards, and gently pull down the lower eyelid. One drop may then be placed in the eyelid. You can prevent the medication from dripping out by gently pressing on the corner of the eye, beside the nose, for 1 minute.

Pilocar Eye Drops (Pilocarpine Nitrate) can sometimes cause side effects, including:

• Irritation of the eye
• Blurred vision
• Difficulty seeing in dim light
• Brow ache
• Headache

If you notice a worsening of these side effects, you should consult your physician immediately. Other more serious side effects requiring immediate medical attention include increased watering of the eye, crusting or drainage around the eye.
