Uses

Posid (Etoposide) is used in conjunction with other medications for treating patients with recurrent testicular cancer and lung cancer. It is an anti-neoplastic and stops the spread of the cancer by stopping the cancer cells from dividing.

Dosage and Administration

How much you take and how often will depend on the strength of the Posid (Etoposide) and your condition. Take strictly as directed by your physician, with or without food. Do not alter your dose or suddenly stop taking it without consulting your physician, even if you are feeling better. If you do, your symptoms may get worse and increase the onset of unwanted side effects. If you forget to take a dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Never take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.

As with all medication, Posid (Etoposide) has the potential to cause side effects in some patients. Common side effects include diarrhea, heartburn, bruising, increased sweating, vomiting, changes to your voice, nausea, and hair or appetite loss. If these symptoms worsen or persist, contact your physician.

Rare side effects include an allergic reaction, fever, unusual bleeding or bruising, tingling in the fingers or toes, a decreased ability to fight infection, a temporary blindness, and unusual tiredness. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your physician immediately or seek emergency medical treatment.
