Triflucan

Triflucan (Fluconazole) is a triazole antifungal, which is effective a treating a wide range of infections caused by fungi, such as fungal skin infections (athlete`s foot, ringworm and jock itch), vaginal thrush, oral thrush, candida infections of the urinary tract, throat or lungs, meningitis, and many other types of infection. This medicine interferes with the fungal membrane, and causes the destruction of the fungi, which in turn leads to the eventual treatment of the infection.

Triflucan (Fluconazole) capsules are prescribed for a variety of different infections, and because of this, the dosage regimen required will vary greatly from patient to patient. Your physician will decide the correct dosage, based on the condition being treated. In some cases, adults treating a candida urinary tract infection may be prescribed a dosage ranging from 50mg to 200mg once per day. Other conditions will be treated with different dosage regimens. Always follow your physician`s instructions.

Treating fungal infections with Triflucan (Fluconazole) may cause:

• Vertigo
• Diarrhea
• Pain affecting the stomach
• Unusual taste in the mouth
• Changes in your sense of taste

Serious side effects, such as skin blisters, seizures, body aches and any other symptoms which have not been listed here will need immediate medical care.

You must notify your physician if you have or have ever had cancer, AIDs, low sodium, potassium, magnesium or calcium levels, liver disease, kidney disease, heart conditions or any conditions in which you are unable to tolerate sucrose or lactose.

There is a possibility that this drug may cause problems affecting the liver. Patients who are taking high doses of this drug may need to have blood tests conducted to check the function of the liver.
