Description

Uses

Xlash (Bimatoprost) is used to improve the length and fullness of the eyelashes. It may also darken their color making them more noticeable. The medication is meant to be used regularly as the eyelashes will return to their normal volume after cessation of application.

Dosage and Administration

Xlash (Bimatoprost) is usually applied once daily in the evening or as directed by your physician. Always remove your contact lenses before applying the solution. Apply one drop of the solution on an applicator brush and carefully brush it along the lash from the base of the eyelid. Do not use this medication on the lower eyelash. Wait at least fifteen minutes after application to reinsert your contact lenses to prevent unexpected problems. United Pharmacies offers replacement applicators in our selection of Accessories if you run out.

Side effects

Side effects that have been reported by patients who have applied Xlash (Bimatoprost) include:

  • Irritation of the eyes
  • Eye redness
  • Darkening of the eyelashes
  • Darkening of the skin around the eyes
  • Unwanted hair growth

If the solution often comes into contact with the eye itself, it may eventually lead to a darkening of the iris pigmentation.

Precautions

Special care should be taken to ensure no Xlash (Bimatoprost) solution gets into the eye. It is also not recommended to use this medication if you are breastfeeding. Inform your physician if you have asthma, decreased kidney function, decreased liver function, no lens in the eye, glaucoma, conjunctivitis, or other chronic eye infections to prevent any unexpected complications that may occur.
