Admenta

Admenta (Memantine HCl) is used to treat moderate to severe dementia caused by Alzheimer`s Disease. It works by blocking glutamate, which responsible symptoms of Alzheimer`s disease. It can also be prescribed to treat various other conditions.

Please note Admenta (Memantine HCL) is only effective in reducing the severity of symptoms brought on by Alzheimers disease. It will not cure the disease.

Always dose as directed by your doctor. Never change your dosage, start, or stop using Admenta (Memantine HCL) unless advised by your doctor. Always complete the course of medication prescribed.

Admenta (Memantine HCL) is to be taken orally with a full glass of water, with or without food, usually once daily increasing to twice a day depending on your progress.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If however it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Never double-up a dose to compensate for a missed previous one.

Inform your doctor if your symptoms are not improving.

The following side effects are mild, usually requiring no medical attention. If they persist, worsen, or become bothersome inform your doctor promptly.

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Constipation
• Headaches
• Fatigue and dizziness
• Muscle aches
• Weight loss
• Mood changes

• Confusion or hallucinations
• Abnormal lack of coordination
• Fainting
• Abnormal urination
• Abnormally pale skin
• Easy bleeding or bruising
• Symptoms of hypertension, such as severe headaches, vision changes, abnormal heartbeat, numbness, seizures, chest pains, difficulty concentrating

If you suspect you have had an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include a rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing, and severe dizziness.

Prior to taking Admenta (Memantine HCL), discuss fully your medical history and any prescription or non-prescription medication you take with your doctor. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, are breast feeding, or if you have a history of any of the following.

• Any allergies
• Liver disease
• Kidney disease
• Seizure disoder
• Bladder or kidney infection
• Cataracts

• Avoid alcohol consumption
• Take special care when driving or operating heavy and dangerous machinery until you know how Admenta (Memantine HCL) affects you
• If you are prescribed new unrelated medication, always ensure your doctor is aware you are using Admenta (Memantine HCL)
• Never share your medication, even with someone who has the same condition as you
• See your doctor regularly and keep all appointments. Inform your doctor if your condition is not improving
• If you think you have overdosed, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an overdose can include drowsiness, restlessness, hallucinations, fainting, and unusual behavior
