Amantrel

Amantrel (Amantadine Hydrochloride) is used for the prevention and treatment of various strains of influenza A virus. It can be used to treat Swine Flu. Amantrel Hydrochloride is also indicated in the treatment of parkinsonism (Parkinson`s disease) and drug-induced extrapyramidal reactions.

Amantrel (Amantadine Hydrochloride) comes in the form of capsules, which you should take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. You may be told to take it 1 to 2 times per day, depending on your condition. In some patients, this drug may cause difficulty sleeping. If this occurs, you should take your last dose well in advance of your bedtime, so as to avoid difficulty sleeping.

Amantrel (Amantadine Hydrochloride) may cause:

• Heacaches, fatigue or a spinning sensation
• Difficulty sleeping
• Blurred vision
• Dryness in the mouth or nose
• Headaches

Tell your doctor if you notice any side effects. If any other more serious side effects occur, such as change in urination, uncontrolled shaking, depression or any side effects not mentioned here, you should immediately seek medical attention.
