Benztrop

Benztrop (Benztropine Mesilate) is used to treat muscle spasms, drooling, sweating and other symptoms caused by Parkinson`s disease. It can also be used to reduce involuntary movement and spasms occurring as a side effect of anti-psychotic medication.

Patients taking Benztrop (Benztropine Mesilate) may be instructed to take this medication 2 to 4 times per day. The exact dosage prescribed varies depending on the condition being treated. Your physician will prescribe a dosage that is best suited to treating your particular condition. It is common for patients to be prescribed a low dosage when first taking this medication and for their physician to adjust their dosage depending on the patient`s ongoing response to treatment.

Some patients taking Benztrop (Benztropine Mesilate) have reported experiencing side effect, which include:

• Flushing
• Dryness in the mouth
• Blurred vision
• Numbness in the fingers
• Changes in mood or feeling depressed

Although rare, some more serious side effects may occur. Tell your physician immediately if you notice severe abdominal pain, chest pains, fever symptoms, severe dizziness, difficulty urinating, hallucinations, or severe memory problems.
