Uses

Butop Cream (Butenafine HCL) is a topical anti-fungal cream prescribed for treating fungal infections such as athlete`s foot, ringworm, pityriasis and jock itch. Butop works by weakening the fungal cell membrane.

Dosage and Administration

Always use Butop as instructed by your health care provider. Normally it is applied to the affected areas twice a day for 7 days or once a day for 4 weeks.

Wash the affected area and dry it thoroughly before applying Butop. Thinly cover the affected and surrounding areas, and gently rub the cream into the skin. Wash your hands thoroughly after use.

If you miss an application do take an extra dose, or increase your future dose to compensate for the missed one. Instead, simply continue using the medication as normal.

It may take anything from several days to weeks to see an improvement in your condition so continue with you entire treatment for best results.

Side effects

Side effects of Butop can include stinging, burning, itching, swelling or a worsening of your condition. Severe side effects of Butop include severe skin rashes or reactions like blisters, oozing and swelling.

Precautions

Butop is for external use only. Avoid contact with your eyes, lips, eyelid, mouth and is not for intra-vaginal use.

Before taking Butop eye drops always ensure you health care provider is aware of any allergies you have, any medication you have been taking (including non-prescription), and always inform your health care provider if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Do not cover the area being treated with bandages or any other dressings, unless your health care provider tells you to.

If Butop comes into contact with your eyes, wash with cool water and contact your health care provider if any irritation in your eye continues.
