Description

Uses

Cleocin (Clindamycin) is an antibiotic. The vaginal cream is prescribed as a treatment for bacterial vaginosis, a type of infection in the vagina caused by bacteria and the topical solution is used for acne. This cream helps to prevent the bacteria from growing, leading to the eventual treatment of the infection. However, the vaginal cream is not effective at treating irritation of the vagina occurring as a result of a yeast infection, chlamydia or trichomoniasis.

The topical solution is used for acne, and its primary ingredient belongs to a class of medicines called lincomycin antibiotics. It helps to inhibit or prevent the growth of the bacteria that cause acne, while also reducing inflammation. This in turn helps to reduce the amount of acne lesions, allowing the skin to properly heal.

Dosage and Administration

Cleocin (Clindamycin) should be used exactly as instructed by your physician. Cleocin Vaginal Cream (Clindamycin) should be applied to the inside of the vagina. Your physician will tell you how to properly apply it, and you can also read the label for more information. When prescribing the cream, it is possible that your physician will tell you to apply it just before going to bed. Treatment may be required for 3 days, however, there is a possibility that 7 days of treatment will be required. Continue treatment as prescribed unless your physician tells you otherwise.

Cleocin T Topical Solution (Clindamycin) is applied topically to the area of skin on the face requiring treatment. However, before you use it, you must visit your physician, in order to determine whether or not it is suitable for you. In addition to this, your physician will tell you how often to apply it, and the length of time for which treatment will be required. Adults using this solution for the treatment of acne are often instructed to apply it twice per day. In most cases, 2 to 6 weeks of treatment are noticed in order for an improvement in symptoms to occur. Patients may need to use it for 12 weeks in order to experience the full benefits. If your condition does not improve, or worsens, you should tell your physician.
