Gatiquin

Gatiquin (Gatifloxacin) belongs to the family of drugs called Fluoroquinolones. It is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial growth and infections in the body, specifically the urinary tract, sinuses, lungs, and skin. This medication may also be used to treat certain STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) such as uncomplicated gonorrhoea. It is effected against a wide variety of gram positive and gram negative organisms such as Streptococcus, Pyogenes, Stapylococcus, Aureus, E Coli, Proteus Mirabilis, and more.

Always follow your physician`s instructions. Never adjust your dose yourself or self-medicate. Gatiquin (Gatifloxacin) should be taken alongside a full glass of water. Aim to dose at the same time(s) each day. Patients suffering from respiratory tract infection are usually prescribed a dose of 400mg, taken once per day. Patients suffering from urinary tract infection are also usually prescribed 400mg once per day.

Mild side effects of Gatiquin (Gatifloxacin) include nausea, stomach pains, confusion, itchiness, abnormal vaginal discharge, or headaches.

Serious side effects which require immediate medical attention may include light-headedness, convulsions, bloody stools, painful joints, swelling, numb sensations, loss of appetite, jaundice, and change in heart rate.
