Irovel

Irovel (Irbesartan) is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It possesses diuretic properties, as well as angiotensin II receptor antagonist properties. It works by widening the patient`s blood vessels and removing excess salt and retained fluid so blood can pass more effectively.

Always take Irovel (Irbesartan) as prescribed. Swallow tablets whole without chewing, crushing, splitting, or dissolving it. Patients are normally not advised to dose during the evening so any increased urination does not interfere with sleep.

You may be required to attend regular blood pressure readings with your physician. Keep all appointments. Your physician may choose to adjust your dose based on your progress.

Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.

• Abnormal changes to your heart rate

Irovel (Irbesartan) may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always ensure your physician is aware of any of the following which apply to you.

• If you are taking any other prescription or non-prescription medication
• If you use any vitamins or supplements of any kind
• If you suffer from any existing medical conditions or illnesses
• If you have any allergies
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• If you have any notable personal or family medical history
