Description
Mometamax Otic Suspension (Gentamicin/Mometasone/Clotrimazole) is used to treat otitis externa in dogs. This is an inflammation of the ear that may be caused by yeast or bacteria. Mometamax contains Gentamicin sulfate (an antibiotic), Mometasone furoate (a corticosteroid) and Clotrimazole (a broad-spectrum antifungal).
Mometamax is supplied in a bottle with a dropper that allows it to be directly applied to the ear. Dogs under 30 lbs should be given 4 drops once daily. Dogs over 30 lbs should be given 8 drops once daily.
Most dogs will experience no side effects when Mometamax is applied correctly. In rare cases loss of hearing or balance may occur.
Mometamax Otic Suspension (Gentamicin/Mometasone/Clotrimazole) should not be used in pregnant dogs. It should also not by used in dogs with ruptured ear drums.
