Ritomune

Ritomune (Ritonavir) is an anti-HIV drug that is classified as a protease inhibitor. Its mechanism of action is said to be disrupting the HIV protease enzyme, which causes it to produce ineffective viral particles that are unable to further infect the body. Physicians generally tell patients to use this medicine alongside other anti-retroviral drugs to treat an infection caused by HIV-1. Experts have also stated that it can improve the effects of other protease inhibitors.

Ritomune (Ritonavir) is provided in the form of 100mg strength film coated tablets. Continue treatment as recommended and never exceed the dosage recommended by your physician.

Patients undergoing treatment with the protease inhibitor Ritomune (Ritonavir) might suffer from side effects. Notify your physician if this happens. Examples can include:

• Soreness in the joints or muscles
• Digestive disturbances such as diarrhea
• Numbness or tingling sensation affecting the mouth
