ThyroFit 25

ThyroFit 25 contains a synthetic version of the hormone Thyroxine. This is used to treat people who cannot product enough of this hormone themselves natuarally (hypothyroidism). Usually this is because of an underactive thyroid. Normal thyroid levels are important in maintaining normal levels of mental and physical activity. ThyroFit 25 can also be used in some cases of thyroid cancer or goiters.

Follow the dosage instructions prescribed by your doctor which will be based on a number of factors including age, weight, medical condition, laboratory test results, and response to treatment.

Tablets should be swallowed whole on an empty stomach before breakfast. In most cases you will take just this daily dose.

You may notice some hairloss during the early periods of treatment. This does not usually last long and the hair growth returns to normal.

Signs you may have too high a convcentration of thyroxine include increased sweating, sensitivity to heat, mental/mood changes (such as nervousness, mood swings), tiredness, diarrhea, shaking (tremor), headache, shortness of breath. If you notice any of these, speak to your doctor about a dosage adjustment. Chest pain, fast/pounding/irregular heartbeat, swelling hands/ankles/feet, seizures can also result from high thyroid levels. Conttac your doctor immediately if you notice any of these effects.

Very few people are allergic to thyroxine, but if you notice signs of allergy, get medical help immediately.

Before taking ThyroFit 25, tell your doctor of all medications (especially blood thinners, digoxin, sucroferric oxyhydroxide, theophylline) you are taking, as well as any health problems especially if you have increased thyroid hormones (thyrotoxicosis), decreased adrenal gland function, heart disease (such as coronary artery disease, irregular heartbeat), high blood pressure, diabetes.

ThyroFit 25 should be safe to use during pregnanacy, but a dosage adjutment may be advised by your doctor.
