Description

Uses

Buscopan (Hyoscine-N-Butyl-Bromide) is classified as an antispasmotic drug, and it works by suppressing and blocking muscle spasms in the gastro-intestinal tract. It also has anticholinergic properties. Indications for this medicine include abdominal pain and spasms in the intestinal tract, especially when these symptoms occur as a result of irritable bowel syndrome. Patients have also taken it for bladder spasms. This medicine`s mechanism of action is blocking the receptors in the cells of the muscles so as to prevent acetylcholine from affecting them, which in turn helps to prevent spasms.
