Hostacycline

Hostacycline (Tetracycline) is well known for treatment of different bacterial infections. It is also applied for treatment of acne and to prevent "traveler`s diarrhea", nongonococcal urethritis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, chancroid, typhus, cholera, anthrax, brucellosis, and syphilis. However, it is not used for viral infections like flu and common colds.

The dosage of Hostacycline (Tetracycline) can be changed depending on the patient`s medical conditions and his response to the treatment. For best results take the drug at always spaced intervals. Continue taking the medication even after symptoms go back during a few days. Take it at least two hours before or after meals. If you develop upset stomach, take the drug with food.

Possible side effects of Hostacycline (Tetracycline) include:

• diarrhea
• nausea
• loose stools
• vomiting
• rash
• abdominal pain
• headache
• dizziness

Before taking Hostacycline (Tetracycline), tell your physician if you have liver disease; mononucleosis or kidney disease. In the above conditions, you may not be worthy to use the drug, or your physician may advise a dosage adjustment or special tests during treatment.

If you had an allergic reaction to penicillin or to a cephalosporin in the past, let your physician know.
