Prevention of ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection)

Cold and damp in the overcoming autumn period – ideal satellites for the development of acute respiratory diseases. The pathogens that cause them literally hover in the air and with each breath people are threatened by high fever, colds, and sore throats. Scientists have counted more than two hundred microorganisms that can cause us a state, which we are accustomed to calling ARI.

Prevention of colds

Under the general name “ARI” there are a number of specific diseases that are transmitted by airborne droplets: bronchitis, bronchiolitis, rhinitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, nasopharyngitis, pneumonia and acute respiratory viral infections (as a special case of acute respiratory infections).

The development of each of these diseases begins with similar symptoms: sore throat, runny nose, and cough, tears, brokenness, weakness, palpitations, headache. Therefore, if you do not want to feel it for yourself, you need to pay special attention to prevention.

The most reliable way to avoid infection with ARIs is not to maintain contact with people who are already infected. But in practice it’s almost impossible, so you just have to carefully monitor your health. To do this, you have to adhere to a number of rules:

  1. Room air. Pathological bacteria are transmitted by airborne droplets, so the more often you will air and let fresh air, the fewer microbes will surround you.
  2. Strengthen immunity. Once in the body, the bacteria stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies to fight with them. The stronger the immunity, the more antibodies will develop, and the sooner the body will overcome the disease. Be sure to watch the food, it must be complete and diverse. Take additional vitamin complexes, especially vitamin C and other vitally important during this period (for example, Redoxon, Gold-Vit C 1000 Forte, Redox-C). Do not forget about healthy sleep and moderate physical activity. Positive effects on immunity have frequent strolls in the open air and avoid a long stay in closed areas. The increase in immunity is well affected by hardening. The alternation of high and low temperatures stimulates the protective functions of the respiratory tract in the fight against disease-causing microbes. The contrasting shower works well for these things.
  3. Do not forget about additional methods of prevention. You can also reduce the risk of viruses and bacteria entering the body through a series of manipulations. Periodically rinse your throat with decoctions of herbs or a solution of soda. It will help get rid of viruses, bacteria, and toxic substances that come to us. It should be noted that this procedure has a mild irritant effect, therefore, immediately after it, an unpleasant feeling may be in the throat, which takes several minutes.
  4. Take care of yourself. Sometimes we become distributors of the infection, undermining our health with unjustified games with cold and dampness – we dress lightly, we sit a lot of time, we are nervous about trifles. Do not take risks!
